Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin is the largest university in eastern Poland, with over 272,000 alumni to date. The university provides education across 12 faculties, offering approximately 100 study programs and more than 300 specializations. It also offers nearly 120 postgraduate and doctoral study programs. For many years, programs such as law, finance and accounting, psychology, English studies, applied linguistics, jazz and stage music, and logistics have enjoyed unwavering popularity. Each year, new programs are introduced, with curricula consulted with employer representatives.
UMCS continuously develops its educational offerings, making every effort to adapt teaching programs to current job market requirements. Students have access to modern teaching facilities and laboratories, including those at the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Spatial Management, the Institute of Computer Science, the Functional Nanomaterials Centre at the Faculty of Chemistry, and the Television Studio at the ACKiM UMCS Chatka Żaka. In addition to excellent learning conditions, students have a wide range of opportunities to pursue their passions. The university offers attractive scholarship systems and opportunities to develop interests in numerous research clubs, student organizations, and in 30 sections and sports teams of AZS UMCS Lublin. Culture enthusiasts are invited to participate in various artistic and creative groups operating in the famous Academic Centre for Culture and Media UMCS Chatka Żaka.
In total, nearly 17,000 students, doctoral candidates, and postgraduate participants study at UMCS. For several years, the University has been actively and effectively promoting recruitment among international candidates. As a result, currently 1,600 international students from 50 countries are studying at the University. A unique feature distinguishing UMCS is its student campus located in the city center, consisting of teaching buildings, 9 student dormitories of the highest standard, clubs, sports and cultural facilities, a library, and more. The campus, beyond its residential qualities, is also an excellently designed urban complex deserving a permanent place in the history of 20th-century architecture.
