Finance and Accounting at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW is a two-year (four-semester) master's programme taught entirely in English. It suits you if you want to build advanced knowledge of finance and accounting, banks and financial institutions, and to analyse the economic and financial situation of organisations, including those in the food economy.
In the first semesters you work with managerial accounting, cost accounting, tax accounting and financial reporting, alongside advanced financial accounting. You study controlling in banks, credit institutions management, monetary policy, financial law and IT systems in financial institutions. The quantitative side includes risk theory, forecasting and simulations, and dynamic and financial econometrics. Later you move on to investment portfolio, international finance, financial engineering and financial consulting, and finally to international accounting and contemporary theories in finance. In the last year you also choose specialisation subjects from the faculty's offer and complete a master's thesis prepared in a diploma seminar.
The whole programme is taught in English, and you additionally take a foreign language class and one elective subject delivered in a foreign language, so you practise professional vocabulary in more than one language and get used to working in an international environment.
