Dlaczego warto studiować w Akademii Łazarskiego
Why study it:

Management at Lazarski University in Warsaw is a three-year, full-time bachelor's programme taught in English. You choose between two specialisations, E-commerce and Marketing Management and Psychology in Management, so it fits both people drawn to online business and those drawn to teams and leadership.

Programme: business basics first

Both specialisations start from the same business foundations in the first year: introduction to business, micro- and macroeconomics, mathematics, information technology, programming and academic writing in advanced English.

Later semesters add management skills workshops, project work in financial analysis, and a course on entrepreneurship, responsibility and cooperation. Business ethics, sustainable development and corporate social responsibility are woven into the teaching, and a large share of classes is led by practitioners.

Specialisation: digital business or people at work

The two specialisations differ in what they put at the centre:

  • E-commerce and Marketing Management: marketing strategy, brand building, social media, public relations, online sales models and the customer experience in digital channels
  • Psychology in Management: motivation, group dynamics, emotional intelligence, leadership, resilience and change in organisations
  • E-commerce and Marketing Management adds digital marketing and business models for online sales, while Psychology in Management adds consumer behaviour, decision psychology and AI tools used in psychology
  • both routes treat consumer behaviour as an important topic, approached from the marketing side in one and from the psychological side in the other

Placements: internships and faculty projects

The third year is built around internships. On the e-commerce route the practice is long, and you can join the Career 360 project offered by the Faculty of Economics and Management. On the psychology route you can take part in faculty projects, for instance the Compendium of Economics and Management, which may count towards part of the practical training requirement. The first year of the e-commerce route is organised as problem-based learning, with a project in each semester, and the second year brings a computer simulation game.

Qualifications: certificates for the job market

On the e-commerce route you can earn certificates related to digital marketing and e-commerce, which strengthen your profile when you start looking for work.

⇑Definitions and quotes

Management
Management (or managing) is the administration of an organization, whether it is a business, a not-for-profit organization, or government body. Management includes the activities of setting the strategy of an organization and coordinating the efforts of its employees (or of volunteers) to accomplish its objectives through the application of available resources, such as financial, natural, technological, and human resources. The term "management" may also refer to those people who manage an organization.
Management
Poorly managed corporations, disorganized businesses, and badly led service agencies experience crisis daily and most will eventually fail. In contrast, the danger is to well organized, smooth running institutions that may not recognize a building crisis. Too often, sound organizations rely on their normal modus operandi to pull them through a crisis. It might. But at what cost? And what if it does not pull them through?
Wheeler L. Baker, Crisis Management: A Model for Managers (1993), p. 6
Management
Management as an activity has always existed to make people’s desires through organized effort. Management facilitates the efforts of people in organized groups and arises when people seek to cooperate to achieve goals.
Daniel A. Wren and Arthur G. Bedeian. The evolution of management thought, 1972, p. 11-12
Management
Understanding the concept of competency is a prerequisite to understanding his integrated model of management.
