⇑Why choose the Manager specialisation (Master's) at SWPS University?

Dlaczego warto studiować na Uniwersytecie SWPS
Why study it:

Manager is one of two second-year tracks of the Management and Leadership master's at SWPS University. It is designed for people aiming at managerial positions in mid-sized and big companies.

Programme: analytics, quality and deals

The track puts four subjects on your timetable:

  • big data analytics
  • quality management
  • mergers, acquisitions and partnerships
  • internal control and audit

Placements: a consultant's view of real firms

Real business cases are central to the studies. In a consulting assignment you examine an actual company situation and suggest remedies for challenges ranging from market strategy to process optimisation, talent management and digital transformation, learning how consultants think and work. You evaluate the situation first, then match each proposal to the particular difficulty the business faces, whether it concerns markets, procedures, people or technology.

After graduation: leading teams in established firms

A manager's desk is the aim: the track suits people who see themselves leading teams at mid-sized and big firms, where questions of quality, partnerships and internal audit arise. It is the more corporate-minded of the two second-year choices, while the other one is built around launching and running your own company.

⇑Definitions and quotes

Manager
The man in charge must concern himself with details. If he does not consider them important, neither will his subordinates. Yet “the devil is in the details.” It is hard and monotonous to pay attention to seemingly minor matters. In my work, I probably spend about ninety-nine percent of my time on what others may call petty details. Most managers would rather focus on lofty policy matters. But when the details are ignored, the project fails. No infusion of policy or lofty ideals can then correct the situation.

Manager
Managers are to information as alcoholics are to booze. They consume enormous amounts, constantly crave more, but have great difficulty in digesting their existing intake.

Manager
When a manager asks for hard data, that's usually just his way of saying no.
