Multimedia and AI is a specialisation within the Computer Science programme, a full-time Bachelor's course taught in English at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology (PJAIT). It combines creating and processing images, video, sound and text with the artificial intelligence methods that increasingly support this work.
The specialisation covers creating, processing and analysing multimedia both in a traditional way and with the help of artificial intelligence. You also study interaction, meaning two-way communication between a person and a system through multimedia interfaces, as in games and educational applications. The techniques involved include signal processing and machine learning, among them deep neural networks. Specialisation subjects are Multimedia Project Delivery and Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality, supported by courses such as Human Computer Interaction and Content Management Systems.
You look at how AI is used in multimedia content, for example in:
The recording studio has a control room separated from the recording room by double glass and double doors, with sound-absorbing walls. You work with professional sound consoles, a range of microphones, sound processors, a computer workstation with recording software, a digital piano and a MIDI keyboard.
The photo studio offers several backgrounds, full-frame DSLR cameras and professional lighting, including flashes fast enough to freeze motion, softboxes, reflectors and portable lamps.
Graduates can work as interaction designers, user experience specialists, creators of multimedia material with AI, animators, 3D and visual effects artists, game designers, mobile application designers, or specialists in speech synthesis and natural language processing. Thesis topics range from speech synthesis and voice quality classification to sign language recognition and applications that support people with aphasia.
