Interactive Multimedia is a specialisation within the Computer Science programme, a full-time Master's course taught in English at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology (PJAIT). It focuses on the way people work with IT systems, usually online, and on the interfaces that make this cooperation possible.
The key idea is interaction: two-way communication between a person and a system, or between users through the system, as in games and other activities that require cooperation. Multimedia interfaces make this possible. They integrate the computer, data, television, telephone and mobile devices and other information technologies, so the user of an interactive application becomes an active participant in communication rather than a passive viewer.
Interactive media bring together several areas that you meet in the specialisation:
The most popular interactive multimedia applications are games, educational and training programmes, electronic encyclopedias and tourist guides, and this is the kind of software you learn to design and build.
