Information Management is a bachelor's programme at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology (PJAIT) that joins business, technology and data. It suits you if management or economics appeals to you but you want stronger digital and IT skills.
You learn how to use IT tools that support management, and you become fluent in the information systems of modern enterprises. The programme builds knowledge of management, economics and IT, with particular emphasis on organising an enterprise efficiently, managing projects competently and solving problems of how organisations function, which calls for both hard and soft skills.
Traditional management programmes concentrate on organisation, economics, finance and business processes. Here you add technology, data analysis, information systems and IT projects. Compared with computer science, information management is a practical IT field with extra management, analysis and communication components: most subjects are IT subjects, and the rest broaden managerial competence, including team and IT project management.
You choose a specialised area in the fifth semester of full-time studies (the sixth in part-time studies) by filling in a questionnaire. The options are:
Graduates work in enterprises as managers, in particular IT project managers and process or product engineers, and as specialists who design and implement IT systems in management. They are well prepared for production and commercial companies, financial institutions and administration – wherever results depend on the effective use of information. Graduates are also prepared to run their own business and to manage projects, particularly with the Scrum methodology.
