The Lodz University of Techonology came into existence in 1945,
initially with 3 Faculties of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical
Engineering and Chemistry. Together with its development new faculties
were established, up to the present number of 9 faculties, 70
institutes and departments and 120 specializations. In 1992 the
International Faculty of Engineering was set up with English and French
as its languages of instruction. TUL offers a possibility of obtaining
the following degrees: Bachelor of Art, Bachelor of Science, Master of
Science and Doctorate of Philosophy. There are 19 932 students and
approximately 3 000 staff members at the University. In 2002 a large,
fully computerised library was opened. There are dormitories, canteens,
a cinema, sports teams, Radio Żak broadcasting throughout the region
and managed entirely by students, galleries? Within the campus area
there are student clubs, two bank branches, a travel agency, a post
office, cafés? Apart from the Student Committee plenty of other student
organizations operate here as well. Undoubtedly each student can find
here appropriate conditions for development, education and
entertainment.
ECTS LABEL AND DIPLOMA SUPPLEMENT LABEL
Lodz University of Technology was awarded ECTS Label and Diploma
Supplement Label by the European Commission. Lodz University of
Technology is the only technical university in Poland which obtained
these prestigious distinctions which is an acknowledgment of compliance
with the highest standards of quality of education and international
exchange.

WHY IS IT WORTH STUDYING AT TUL?
We are the first among Polish technical universities in the number of
outgoing students under the LLP Erasmus Programme and in the number of
exchanged students under IAESTE.
Every year, several hundred students - the highest number of all
technical universities in Poland - go to study at foreign universities -

DESIGN THINKING (DT4U)
DESIGN THINKING (DT4U) is the only laboratory in Poland dedicated to
creative problem solving with the application of the Design Thinking
method. Lodz University of Technology is the first higher education
institution in Poland to have formally introduced this effective and
much coveted by employers method into its curriculum.
SHORT FAST TRACK TO DEGREE
Short Fast Track to Degree is a project created especially for the
most talented students of Lodz University of Technology. Its main
objective is to facilitate their research career and enable their
participation in research projects.
ACCOMMODATION
The halls of residence are modern, fully furnished double rooms with
shared kitchen, toilet and bathroom facilities (one bathroom per two
rooms), and with one shared per floor. Most student houses also have
laundry rooms and Wi-Fi. The price of a shared room is approximately 90
EUR a month per person.

One of the main tasks of TUL's Career Service is to support students
in their search for satisfying employment and to encourage students and
Ph.D. students to start their own businesses.

at TUL. They are a perfect platform for students with a passion for

We are the only university in Lodz to have a
place among the national top ten universities in the Perspektywy
magazine and Rzeczpospolita newspaper university ranking. The University
ranks fourth in the Best Technical University category.

TUL is the fourth most frequently selected university according to a Ministry for Science and Higher Education report.
Mobility conducive
TUL is the first university in Poland to have
been awarded the prestigious ECTS Label Certificate by the European
Commission. More than 1300 students have graduated from programs offered
in foreign languages.
TUL is the only university in Poland with such a
wide range of programs in foreign languages offered at its International
Faculty of Engineering.
Every year, several hundred students - the
