The location of
the Koszalin University of Technology (Politechnika Koszalińska) is the city
of Koszalin, which is situated close to the Baltic Sea, in a pleasant and
ecologically clean region. Koszalin is one of 19 Polish cities with a
polytechnic or university, and with 18,500 students Politechnika Koszalińska
accounts for 16 per cent of its population. This fact, together with the
Polytechnic’s right to confer scientific doctor’s degrees (PhD) and advanced
doctor’s degrees (DSc), its international connections, the publishing of
books and papers of worldwide renown and the organization of congresses and
international conferences, demonstrates that Koszalin is a well-established
scientific centre. To its scientific staff, Politechnika Koszalińska offers
the opportunity to work in laboratories equipped with the most up-to-date
facilities, thus enabling the carrying out of research in the most advanced
areas of scientific endeavour, and for its students it provides lines of
study and specialisations which meet the wide-ranging demands of the 21st
century, in particular in the spheres of applied science, information
    technology and communications.

    The Koszalin University of Technology
attracts many outstanding specialists and highly talented students in
technical areas such as electronics, computer science, telecommunications,
automatics and robotics, machine building technology, civil and
environmental engineering and geodesy and cartography as well as other
fields such as economics, management and marketing, and all aspects of
design. Each of the four departments of Politechnika Koszalińska offers many
unique study lines which draw students not only from Central Pomerania but
also from most other regions of Poland. The institution is genuinely
universal in its range and is attracting ever larger numbers of ambitious
    and creative people.

The Koszalin University of Technology is also characterised by its excellent working and learning environment for staff and students, the latter being accommodated in hostels equipped with computer networks which give access to a variety of information resources, multimedia lectures and the Internet. Modern methods of lecturing, combined with excellent collaboration and co-operation between students and academic staff, and comfortable superbly equipped teaching buildings, give under and post graduates every opportunity to acquire knowledge. And every fourth student of The Koszalin University of Technology receives a stipend for outstanding academic results.
Politechnika Koszalińska also ensures that students have the opportunity to use their leisure time productively and creatively. Almost every interest is provided for through scientific circles, discussion societies and a wide range of sports, recreation and cultural clubs.
The Koszalin University of Technology is a modern and attractive centre of academic excellence, and this is why it has been developing faster than many other universities. Statistics reveal that during the last decade the number of professors and students has increased rapidly and continues to increase. That such levels of interest exist bears testimony to the quality of the education provided by our university. I should like to extend a warm invitation to you to join us in Koszalin.
