Definitions and quotes

Safety
Safety is the state of being "safe" (from French sauf), the condition of being protected from harm or other non-desirable outcomes. Safety can also refer to the control of recognized hazards in order to achieve an acceptable level of risk.
Air
The air in music the wing forsakes.
John Muir, letter to Jeanne C. Carr, Yosemite (1874).
Safety
Some people talk as if meeting the gaze of absolute goodness would be fun. They need to think again. They are still only playing with religion. Goodness is either the great safety or the great danger — according to the way you react to it.
C. S. Lewis, Mere Christianity (1952).
Air
Darius was clearly of the opinion
That the air is also man’s dominion,
And that, with paddle or fin or pinion,
We soon or late
Shall navigate
The azure, as now we sail the sea.
John Townsend Trowbridge, Darius Green and his Flying-Machine.
