Medical University of Bialystok is a renowned, dynamically expanding institution of higher education, distinguished among Polish academic centers.

The confirmation of the significant position of the University is the high parametric rating of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, according to which all three MUB departments have category A on a four-level scale and the KNOW status (2012 - 2017). In 2019, the University took 11th place in the prestigious competition of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education "Initiative of Excellence - Research University", which selected 20 best Polish universities. MUB is also the only Polish university that has won a prestigious grant for conducting doctoral studies in the COFUND competition as part of Maria Skłodowska-Curie's Activities in the Horizon 2020 Framework Program of the European Commission. For years, according to national rankings, the Medical University has been the best academic university in the region.

The Medical University has been providing comprehensive education for medical staff for over 70 years. The university is expanding its educational offer in line with the needs of the developing areas of the health service and the labor market. Currently, over 5 000 students study at the Medical University of Bialystok in 16 fields of study, including over 400 in English.

The number of 124 full professors and 162 habilitated doctors out of 886 academic teachers gives us one of the highest rates and places the University among the top universities in Poland.

The Medical University of Białystok provides its research workers and students with the most modern infrastructure and equipment base. The University's structures include: Euroregional Pharmacy Center, Teaching and Research Center of the Faculty of Health Sciences, modernized University Clinical Hospital, Medical Simulation Center, Artificial Intelligence Center, Experimental Medicine Center and Innovative Research Center.

The Medical University of Bialystok carries out many scientific tasks of significant importance for the region and the country. MUB is a precursor and a leader in conducting works on artificial intelligence in medicine and contributing to the development of large-scale research including genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, radiomics and bioinformatics. The University also conducts a population study unique in this part of Europe, covering 10 000 inhabitants of Białystok (Białystok Plus Study) and unique research programs in the field of personalized medicine and civilization diseases.

The seat of the Medical University of Bialystok is in the 18th century Branicki Palace, located in the city center. It is surrounded by the University's academic facilities, two clinical hospitals, dormitories and sports facilities.

It is worth adding that the Medical University of Bialystok is located in a region with extraordinary tourist values. Podlasie is a place of many nationalities, languages, religions, traditions and tastes. It is also a unique area in terms of nature: four national parks, three landscape parks, and almost 90 reserves form the true Green Lungs of Poland. Białystok, on the other hand, is a real academic city. Currently, almost 40,000 students study here at 19 universities.
